SSH for Mac, iPad and iPhone
Hop to any server.
Puddle Jumper is an SSH client and terminal. Your hosts and credentials sync through your own iCloud. There is no account to create and nothing is sent to us.
Everything you need to get there
A clean terminal, your servers organized the way you think about them, and secrets kept where they belong.
Connect over SSH
Open outbound SSH connections to the servers you choose, in a full terminal emulator with a bundled monospaced font.
Organize your hosts
Group hosts in folders and tags, and set connection options once on a folder so every host inside inherits them.
Sync with your iCloud
Your host list and settings follow you between devices through your own private iCloud database. No Puddle Jumper account.
Credentials in Keychain
Passwords and private keys live in iCloud Keychain, behind Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before each use.
Host keys pinned
Each server's host key is pinned on first connection. If it ever changes, the connection is refused.
Private by design
No analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no servers run by us. The app talks only to the hosts you connect to.
How it works
Three steps from a blank screen to a shell.
Add a host
Enter a hostname or IP address. Put it in a folder or tag it; options set on a folder are inherited.
Choose a credential
Save a password, import an Ed25519 key, or on Mac point to a key held by your SSH agent.
Take off
Approve the host key once, and your shell opens. Your hosts are waiting on your other devices too.
Private by design
Puddle Jumper has no backend. There is no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking and no ads, because there is nothing on our side to send data to.
Your host list lives on your devices and in your private iCloud database. Passwords and keys live in your iCloud Keychain. Session traffic goes straight from your device to the server you chose.
One app, three platforms
One app that works across Mac, iPad and iPhone, with your hosts synced between them. Requires macOS 26, iPadOS 26 or iOS 26 or later.
Mac
Full terminal on your desktop. Use keys held by an SSH agent such as 1Password's, without copying them into the app.
Tailscale peer discovery is in the Mac build distributed outside the Mac App Store.
iPad
A proper terminal on the big screen, with iPad multitasking and your hosts already synced.
Agent credentials sync but are not usable on iPad.
iPhone
The server you need to reach, from your pocket. Face ID guards your stored secrets.
Agent credentials sync but are not usable on iPhone.
Ready for takeoff
Puddle Jumper is on its way to the App Store.
